Employer Champion Award

The call for nominations is now an open process, which means that nominations can be submitted at any point throughout the year. Given the important partnership that Passport to Prosperity has with educators I wanted you to be aware of the awards and to encourage you to think of outstanding examples that could be put forward.

The Employer Champion Awards are one important way that we can recognize employers across Ontario that make outstanding contributions within their communities by opening their doors to local high school students, and your taking the time to nominate an employer demonstrates how much you value their continued partnership.

Nominations forms can be found at: http://nexus.twgcommunications.com/ptopawards/.

The 2009 Winners!

Five Ontario employers were presented the 2009 Passport to Prosperity Employer Champion Award in recognition of their outstanding commitment to providing meaningful work experiences for high school students in their communities. These opportunities, which include career talks, worksite visits, job shadowing and cooperative education placements, aim to help prepare students for the critical transition from the classroom to the workforce.

This year’s five Employer Champion Award recipients are:

Rogers TV (Kitchener)
RONA Home & Garden (Nepean)
Venere Salon & Spa (Oakville)
The City of Thunder Bay
